It is the largest AFLAC Iron Girl Triathlon in the U.S. The event is produced by Columbia Triathlon Association (CTA) in cooperation with Howard County Recreation and Parks, and includes a 0.62 mile swim, a 17.5 mile bike, and a 3.4 mile run. CTA is proud to announce two very special athletes who will be competing among 2400 women in this year’s AFLAC Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon: Sarah Reinertsen and U.S. Army LTC Patricia S. Collins are both athletes, both amputees and both inspiring women! For more info, check out the website or for more on theses amazing athletes, check out this press release!

The Cal Ripken World Series reaches the final rounds as the US Championship and International Championship are played Saturday, followed by the World Championship game Sunday. All games are at Ripken Academy and remember, if you would like to see the World Championship game, you have to request tickets (still free event)!!

So whether you like hard-hitting action on the gridiron in Landover, equally as hard-hitting action with sticks in Annapolis, an endurance challenge in Columbia or a nail-biting day at the Yard in Aberdeen- you can find it here in Maryland! Now get out there!!
